Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread

We have a beautiful 80-acre campground which makes it so easy to gather for the entire spring feast, out of the world, and what a blessed seven days it is. There are events scheduled every day, including lunch, most days, followed by a Bible study. After that, there may be a hike on the Katy Trail or a game of volleyball or a movie. If you have never joined us for this time, think about it for next year. This is a time we should look inward, deep into our minds and evaluate our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Are we striving to do our best FOR Him? Click here for a paper to assist you with examining yourself and you can print it out. We will have reports and pictures, or slideshows, like the one from this year's Passover/Feast of ULB (below). May Yahweh bless all who observe His special times!

2018 Passover-Unleavened Bread Report

The Passover Memorial was held with much reverence, and respect for the One Who gave His life that we might live. We gathered on March 31, after sunset to partake of a light meal, and then proceeded to take part in the Passover Memorial Service, remembering what our Savior endured for us. Isaiah 53 describes the suffering He went through: “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth: He was led like a lamb to the slaughter…” It was a beautiful service and the fellowship was sweet as we welcomed brothers that we hadn’t seen for some time. How good and how pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity,” Psalm 133:1!”

Elder George asked the question, “How can we please our Heavenly Father, Yahweh?” Then read from Psalm 116:12, “How can I repay Yahweh for all His goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the Name of Yahweh. He stressed how important it is to partake of the cup each year. It helps us stay close to Yahshua, the One Who gave His life, so we might live.

We welcomed brothers from Minnesota, Florida, Mississippi, Iowa, Illinois and the St. Louis area, and enjoyed sweet fellowship as we shared eight wonderful days together. We celebrated the High Days and Sabbaths with great messages, Spirit-filled praises to Yahweh, beautiful specials, and heartfelt testimonies of how much Yahweh has blessed us through the past year. Just knowing Him is a treasure. Speakers this year were Elders Mike Wardlow, George Garner, Dennis Frisbey, Ed Burgett, Mike Greene, and Brothers Rene Meneses, and Ben Burgett, giving us good instructions from Yahweh’s Word and a lot to consider.

Sister Susan Frisbey did a magnificent  job making the “night to be much remembered” an unforgettable event. She gave each of the children a “passport” then took them to an imaginary airport where they loaded an airplane and departed on their trip to Egypt, for an archaeological dig. They had to dress properly for the dig, so she had masks, goggles, aprons, and bandanas to keep them clean, and they each had a little hammer to chip away at the pyramids and other treasures they had to break. She read the account of the 10 plagues, as they carefully used their toothbrush to scrape away the sand to find the 10 items hidden in the sand, representing the plagues. They plundered the Egyptians and received a lot of goodies to put in their bags. It was a very enjoyable evening and the spectators enjoyed the dig as much as the children.

Each morning, food was provided for everyone who wanted to fellowship while eating breakfast, then lunch started the main activities of the day. One of the sisters volunteered to provide lunch for everyone to enjoy while their husband provided a Bible study topic to discuss. This worked out very well, helping us to stay focused on Yahweh’s Word, and also having time for fellowship together. The evening meal was a “sharing meal” where everyone brought a favorite dish to share with each other—no one excluded. We had fun activities to keep us busy in the afternoons. We watched an exceptionally thought-provoking movie called “Genesis.” It explored the Book of Genesis, and gave thorough scientific, and historical research proving the origin of mankind. It overwhelmingly disproves the theory of evolution and is great for anyone who is interested in learning more about that topic.

We picked a perfect day for the Katy Trail hike—probably the warmest and most beautiful day of the Feast. It was a lovely Spring day as we headed out on the trail. One of the brothers decided he wanted to climb the rocks to check out the cave. It was treacherous, but he managed to make it back to safety.

We had a pie and ice cream social this year as a fund raiser for the Women’s Retreat. We raised $172.00, and had a good time sampling the different pies made by the sisters, along with Sister MiMi’s pound cake recipe, and lots of ice cream to top it off. Thanks to all who participated in making the social a big success.

We had a wonderful week together! Thanks to all who helped make Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread such a blessed time together. We couldn’t have done it without you! It was hard saying farewell to our brothers and sisters, knowing that we will not see some of them again until the fall. Yahweh is good to His set-apart people. We hope that you will be blessed in the coming year!!

The 9th-month new moon was confirmed by many on Friday evening, November 25th! Please contact us if you'd like to report a confirmation or if you have any questions!

Our thanks to Sister Alicia Kaye Barnard who took the new moon photo below on the Rocheport campground! It is an awesome sight, for which we praise Yahweh!

Some have asked us how we "confirm" the sighting of the new moon.  We either see it ourselves (observe=to look at) or wait until we have confirmation from veteran (experienced) new moon watchers. Please contact us with your new moon reports. It will help everyone who comes here for notifications!!

We invite all sincere seekers of truth to come for our weekly Sabbath and High Day services beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a fellowship meal and Bible study!
